Yesterday Matt and I finally picked up our wedding portrait and album! I am so excited and want to share some of the photos with you! I’m a little embarrassed that it’s taken this long for us to get our photos finalised, given that we are now approaching our 3rd anniversary. The reason for the delay is that our incredibly talented photographer provided us with literally hundreds of beautiful proofs and it took Matt and I a very, very long time to decide which ones we wanted in the album!
Our photographer, Glenn, and the rest of his team at Glenn Hawke Photography were super-duper patient and supportive and didn’t mind that we took so long to get our selections organised. These happy snaps that I have taken of the album pages really don’t do the photos justice – they are even more lovely in real life. And my own poor photography skills mean that the camera lens has distorted the shape of the the pages and photos. I assure you, they are mounted with precision and perfection!
It’s so special to Matt and I to be able to look at these photos and chat about how wonderful our wedding day was. This album is bringing back so many beautiful memories of the day.
When we were planning our wedding, I was very stressed and nervous about choosing a photographer. I am very introverted and am often extremely camera shy. We had been drooling over Glenn’s amazing work on his website, and as soon as we met him we knew he was the photographer for us. Glenn’s warm, friendly personality made us feel completely at ease, while his professionalism and extensive experience meant that I knew I wouldn’t have to worry about a thing on the day. We had so much fun having our photos taken!
In case you are wondering, I did design and make my own wedding dress. I also designed the bridesmaids’ dresses and the shawls and made them with a LOT of help from my Mum. In fact, I think Mum did most of the sewing for the bridesmaids’ dresses and shawls. She came and stayed with me for a bit in the lead up to the wedding to help me out – I was very stressed and had a lot of sewing to do, all while working a full-time office job. Thanks Mum and thanks Dad for letting me borrow her!
Given how much I am gushing about Glenn Hawke Photography, I feel the need to clarify that this is not, in any way, a sponsored post. I’m just so happy with our photos! If you live in Adelaide and need a photographer (he also does family portraits etc as well as wedding photos), I would encourage you to check out Glenn’s website. He is a totally lovely person as well as being a gifted photographer. Thanks Glenn, for helping to make our day so special!
