Have you ever been involved in a crafty, bloggy type of swap before? You know, like a pillow swap or a pincushion swap? I had heard of these swaps but had never been involved in one until I joined up with for the brooch swap over at Flower Press.
I think it’s such a lovely idea! I make a brooch and send it to someone (who’s name and address details are given to me by Flower Press) and meanwhile, someone else is making a brooch and will send it to me. I want to say a big thank you to Flower Press for organising this!
The above photo is the brooch that I made using some lovely fabric, grosgrain ribbon and a vintage button. I’m hoping to post a tutorial tomorrow to show you how I made it. Then I will be wrapping it up and popping it in the post. I can’t tell you who it’s for though, because it’s a secret!

I love swaps too
wonderfull brooche!!
Wow this look like the brooch (escarapela) we use in Argentina and Uruguay in National Holidays, yours looks better though, very nice work!
Thanks Melina! That’s so interesting that it’s similar to the escarapela!
It’s a lovely brooch for the swap, I can’t think of a style that it wouldn’t be suitable for.
I am terrified of ‘swaps’ because I am such a dabbler and everyone is so talented! I wouldn’t want to be the ‘dud’ swap, you know!? x
